About Me

Johnny DeLoache is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) ) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) specializing in individual, group, couples and family psychotherapy. He maintains a private practice in Murrells Inlet, SC at the Christian Counseling Clinic. With over 16 years experience as a clinician and counseling minister, he is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His undergraduate degree is in psychology from Wake Forest University. He specializes in grief recovery and serves as a private practitioner working through the Christian Counseling Clinic, serving a broad spectrum of adult and adolescent clients. As a Certified Grief ! Recovery Specialist, Johnny offers assistance in grief and loss in individual and group therapy sessions. Johnny is a practical, interactive, solution-focused and biblical therapist. His treatment approach is to provide support and practical interventions to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing unhealthy patterns of living. As a Christian counselor, he incorporates a blend of conventional, Christian, cognitive/behavioral, experiential, and gestalt approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. When working with couples, he utilizes a hope-focused approach. With sensitivity and compassion, he works with each client to help them build on their strengths and to find tools for coping with weaknesses.

In addition to addressing counseling issues using a cognitive-behavioral approach, I offer EMDR. Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. (EMDR) is a powerful therapeutic method, assisting more than an estimated two million people with many types of psychological distress. Research and clinicians report positive therapeutic results using EMDR in treating the following conditions: Post-traumatic stress (PTSD), panic attacks, generalized anxiety, grief, dissociative disorders, phobias(fears), pain disorders, eating disorders, performance anxiety, people at all stages of chemical dependency, sexual addiction, and pathological gambling, stress reduction, trauma from sexual and/or physical abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder, survivors of violence, victims of natural or manmade disasters, body image issues, and various personality disorders.

Moreover, I am an CENAPS-Gorski trained Relapse-Prevention Counselor. I offer individuals recovering from addictive behaviors hope and strategies for preventing relapse and overcoming denial patterns.
